REHABILITATION DEPARTMENT

Christian Ying, B.A., Dip. SIM, CAT(C)- Certified Athletic Therapist

Christian graduated from York University with a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Kinesiology and from Sheridan College with a Diploma in Sports Injury Management (Athletic Therapy).  He has been doing field coverage for hockey, football, soccer and rugby teams.  Christian is currently in his third year at the Canadian College of Osteopathy.  During his spare time he enjoys playing hockey, floorball and spending time with his family and pets.

 

 


 

Mara Chaplin, BAHSc, B.Sc (K), B.A., CAT(C), Can-Fit Pro PTS, Upper & Lower Extremities Mulligans, Soft Tissue Release -Certified Athletic Therapist, Personal Trainer

Mara graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Arts in German and a Bachelor of Science Kinesiology.  She graduated from Sheridan College with a Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Athletic Therapy).  She has been doing field coverage for hockey, football, soccer, lacrosse and rugby teams and has worked as a set medic on several movie and TV sets.  She has worked with professional tennis players covering the ITF Tevlin Challenger and Futures tournaments.  She is a Can-Fit Pro Personal Trainer.  Mara is the Head Athletic Therapist for Canada's Women Floorball National Team and U18 Women's Floorball Team.  In her spare time she enjoys sports, travelling, the opera and spending time with family and friends. 

 


 

 Godofredo Aquino, B.Sc. PT- Registered Physiotherapist

Godofredo graduated from University of Baguio (Philippines) with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy and attended Ryerson University for continuing education program in Physiotherapy.  After graduation Godofredo worked for the City of Toronto at the Convalescent Care Unit as a rehabilitation assistant.  He is currently taking courses in Advance Physical Therapy at Educational Institute.  In his spare time Godofredo enjoys watching UFC, reading pocketbooks, working out with P90X and practicing Muay Thai.  He also loves to tame zebra finiches and recently became a proud father. 

 


 

Farah Mitha, B.Sc PT, M.Sc.PT- Registered Physiotherapist

Farah graduated from Queen University with a Masters Degree in Physiotherapy.  When not working as a physiotherapist, Farah is pursuing a music career as singer "Farahri" (www.farahri.com).  Her dog Lucky is the clinic mascot and always at her side. 

 

 


 

Daniel Bachli, B.A., Can-Fit Pro PTS - Kinesiologist /Personal Trainer

Dan graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology.  After graduation Dan worked for two years in a physiotherapy clinic focusing on exercise protocol and progression.  He also travelled to western Europe for a month.  In his spare time Dan is continuing his education by attending seminars and classes.  He is interests included resistance training, core strengthening and playing sports such as golf, tennis, hockey and soccer.

 


 

Carrie Wood, B. A - Alexander Technique, Posture/ Exercise Therapist

Carrie graduated from Guelph and Brock Universities with a Bachelor of Health and Recreation.  She has attended the Prana Yoga and Zen School, the Physical Mind Institute and the Toronto School of Alexander Technique.  After graduation Carrie travelled to Japan, Australia, Korea, Indonesia, across Canada and to the US.  She teaches the Alexander Technique with a Pilates and exercise therapy twist. In her spare time Carrie enjoys travelling, kayaking, playing in her garden and studying movement  and health therapies.

 


 

Alisha McLardy- Pilates and Spinning Instructor/ Kinesiologist

Alisha graduated from University of Waterloo with Honours in Kinesiology (Pre-Health).  After graduation Alisha taught spinning and group fitness classes at a gym.  This new Toronto resident enjoys spending as much time as she can outdoors walking or riding  her bike and doing Yoga and Pilates.

 

 


 

Rob Nelson- Kettlebell Instructor

Rob graduated from Centennial College with a degree in Electronics Technology.  After graduation Rob installed radios in fire trucks and ambulances.  When he is not teaching Kettlebell classes, Rob works as a carpenter for Toronto District School Board.  In his spare time Rob enjoys rock climbing, playing soccer and is a Foosball fanatic. 

 

 


 

JoAnn Valentine- Qigong Instructor

Jo-Ann was  in the Royal Canadian Air Force and has also worked for Nortel as an industrial engineering tech and in advertising and marketing.   She currently retired and teaching Tai Chin and Qigong at the Classical Martial Arts Centre in Toronto and the St. Hilda's Retirement Home.   In her spare time Jo-Ann enjoys reading and going to the movies, theatre and the symphony. 

 


 

 Ingrid Wirsig- Yoga Instructor

Ingrid is a long-time practotioner of yoga and completed her yoga teacher training (YTT) at The Yoga Sanctuary in Toronto.  She also has additional certification in teaching yoga to seniors.  She teaches the group class on Wednesdays  and also teaches one-on-one yoga sessions at Rosedale Wellness Centre.  Ingrid specializes in mediation, pranayama (working with the breath or 'life force')  and gentle asana (physical postures).   Ingrid's other passion is acting.  She has performed in a number of theatre productions and short films over the years. 

 


 

Brigitte Grenier- Pilates Instructor

Brigitte graduated from Laurentian University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education specializing in Health Promotion.  She is a  Certified Kinesiologist and a Pilates and yoga instructor.   She previously worked at the Metro Central YMCA as a Group Fitness Coordinator.   In her spare time Brigitte likes to dance and is a cheerleader for the Toronto Argonaunts Football Team.  She also enjoys spending time with her Pekeneese dog named Gizzy.
