CHIROPRACTIC DEPARTMENT

Dr. Bryan Sher, B.Sc., D.C. - Chiropractor

Dr. Sher graduated from University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science Honours in Human Biology and from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. Dr. Sher has been in pracitice for over 25 years and is the founder and director of Rosedale Wellness Centre.  His goal is to see as many Canadians as possible reach their health potential through integrated wellness care.  Dr. Sher plays the trombone in a swing band and is an avid water skier.  He and his wife, Jacquie, enjoy spending time with their numerous pets.

 

 


 

Dr. Rahim Haji, B.Sc., D.C. - Chiropractor

Dr. Haji graduated from University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree.  He completed the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program from McMaster University.  Dr. Haji's special interest lie in treating headaches, upper back pain, shoulder injuries, plantar fascitis and sport related injuries.  He has treated both amateur as well as Olympic level athletes throughtout his career.

 


 

 

 

REHABILITATION DEPARTMENT

Christian Ying, B.A., Dip. SIM, CAT(C)- Certified Athletic Therapist

Christian graduated from York University with a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Kinesiology and from Sheridan College with a Diploma in Sports Injury Management (Athletic Therapy).  He has been doing field coverage for hockey, football, soccer and rugby teams.  Christian is currently in his third year at the Canadian College of Osteopathy.  During his spare time he enjoys playing hockey, floorball and spending time with his family and pets.

 

 


 

Mara Chaplin, BAHSc, B.Sc (K), B.A., CAT(C), Can-Fit Pro PTS, Upper & Lower Extremities Mulligans -Certified Athletic Therapist, Personal Trainer

Mara graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Arts in German and a Bachelor of Science Kinesiology.  She graduated from Sheridan College with a Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Athletic Therapy).  She has been doing field coverage for hockey, football, soccer, lacrosse and rugby teams and has worked as a set medic on several movie and TV sets.  She has worked with professional tennis players covering the ITF Tevlin Challenger and Futures tournaments.  She is a Can-Fit Pro Personal Trainer.  Mara is the Head Athletic Therapist for Canada's Women Floorball National Team and U18 Women's Floorball Team.  In her spare time she enjoys sports, travelling, the opera and spending time with family and friends. 

 


 

Jason White, BAHSc, CAT(C), RMT,  Upper Extremities Mulligans, Soft Tissue Release, Myofascial for Sports Professions- Certifed Athletic Therapist

Jason graduated from Sheridan College with a Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Athletic Therapy) and has a Certificate of Contemporay Medicine Acupuncture from McMaster University.  He recently became a Registered Massage Therapist after finishing a degree at OCHT.  After graduation he travelled to Africa for five weeks making his way from South Africa to Kenya.  Since 2006 Jason has held the position of Head Athletic Therapist for the Ontario Senior Women's Rugby Team, which currently holds the National Championship Title.  In his spare time Jason enjoys travelling, participating in extreme sports and is an avid Master Level Scuba diver.

 


 

 Godofredo Aquino, B.Sc. PT- Registered Physiotherapist

Godofredo graduated from University of Baguio (Philippines) with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy and attended Ryerson University for continuing education program in Physiotherapy.  After graduation Godofredo worked for the City of Toronto at the Convalescent Care Unit as a rehabilitation assistant.  He is currently taking courses in Advance Physical Therapy at Educational Institute.  In his spare time Godofredo enjoys watching UFC, reading pocketbooks, working out with P90X and practicing Muay Thai.  He also loves to tame zebra finiches and recently became a proud father. 

 


 

Farah Mitha, B.Sc PT, M.Sc.PT- Registered Physiotherapist

Farah graduated from Queen University with a Masters Degree in Physiotherapy.  When not working as a physiotherapist, Farah is pursuing a music career as singer "Farahri" (www.farahri.com).  Her dog Lucky is the clinic mascot and always at her side. 

 

 


 

Daniel Bachli, B.A., Can-Fit Pro PTS - Kinesiologist /Personal Trainer

Dan graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology.  After graduation Dan worked for two years in a physiotherapy clinic focusing on exercise protocol and progression.  He also travelled to western Europe for a month.  In his spare time Dan is continuing his education by attending seminars and classes.  He is interests included resistance training, core strengthening and playing sports such as golf, tennis, hockey and soccer.

 


 

Carrie Wood, B. A - Alexander Technique, Posture/ Exercise Therapist

Carrie graduated from Guelph and Brock Universities with a Bachelor of Health and Recreation.  She has attended the Prana Yoga and Zen School, the Physical Mind Institute and the Toronto School of Alexander Technique.  After graduation Carrie travelled to Japan, Australia, Korea, Indonesia, across Canada and to the US.  She teaches the Alexander Technique with a Pilates and exercise therapy twist. In her spare time Carrie enjoys travelling, kayaking, playing in her garden and studying movement  and health therapies.

 


 

Alisha McLardy- Pilates and Spinning Instructor/ Kinesiologist

Alisha graduated from University of Waterloo with Honours in Kinesiology (Pre-Health).  After graduation Alisha taught spinning and group fitness classes at a gym.  This new Toronto resident enjoys spending as much time as she can outdoors walking or riding  her bike and doing Yoga and Pilates.

 

 


 

Rob Nelson- Kettlebell Instructor

Rob graduated from Centennial College with a degree in Electronics Technology.  After graduation Rob installed radios in fire trucks and ambulances.  When he is not teaching Kettlebell classes, Rob works as a carpenter for Toronto District School Board.  In his spare time Rob enjoys rock climbing, playing soccer and is a Foosball fanatic.

Brigitte Grenier- Pilates Instructor

Brigitte graduated from Laurentian University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education specializing in Health Promotion.  She is a  Certified Kinesiologist and a Pilates and yoga instructor.   She previously worked at the Metro Central YMCA as a Group Fitness Coordinator.   In her spare time Brigitte likes to dance and is a cheerleader for the Toronto Argonaunts Football Team.  She also enjoys spending time with her Pekeneese dog named Gizzy. 

 


 

 

NUTRITION AND LIFESTYLE MEDICINE DEPARTMENT

Daniel Watters, B.Sc. ND- Naturopathic Doctor

Daniel graduated from University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and from Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.  Daniel is licensed to perform IV Therapy,  Acupuncture and Biopuncture.  His focus is chronic diseases and he is also interested in environmental medicine and epi-genetics.  When Daniel is not working he enjoys playing ultimate Frisbee, reading and spending time with his family.

 

 


 

Jane Shou, B.Sc. (Hons), ND, C.Ht- Naturopathic Doctor, Certified Hypnotherapist

Jane graduated from University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science Honours and from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.  After graduation she became certified in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture (Cosmetic Acupuncture) and in Hypnotherapy and Pediatic Hypnotherapy from the Ontario Hypnosis Centre.  When she is not practicing Naturopathic Medicine, Jane is educating patients on healthy, happy lifestyles, doing seminars, talks, interviews with the media and writing articles.  In her spare time Jane enjoys hiking, art, music, writing and reading .

 Amanda Spakowski - Birth Doula

Amanda is the founder of The Nesting Place: Prenatal Classes and Doula Care.  She is a birth doula and a Birthing From Within educator.  Her background in human biology, peer counseling, crisis intervention and assisting in home daycare has allowed her to bring an experienced and unique perspective to her classes and care.  In addition to prenatal classes, Amanda also offers birth art workshops for parents and workshops for birth professionals who want to deepen their relationship with clients.  Topics of these workshops include Birthing Biases, Birth Trauma Processing and Story Listening: The Art of Listening to Birth Stories.  Amanda also has a blog thenestingplace.blog.com/

 


 

 

MASSAGE THERAPY DEPARTMENT

Ligaya Esguerra, RMT- Registered Massage Therapist

Ligaya graduated from Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic.  While completing her diploma, she gained experience at the Lyndhurst Rehabilitation Centre with spinal cord injury patients.  She has since worked in multidisciplinary environments such as a Pregnancy and Fertility Clinic and a spa.  Ligaya specializes in Swedish massage and is continuing her education in other massage techniques.

Youjuen (Jane) Ling,  RMT- Registered Massage Therapist

Jane graduated from Royal Institute of Science & Management with a diploma in Massage Therapy.  She also has a Bachelor of Arts from Communication University of China and a Nursing diploma.  After graduation Jane worked for five years as a staff nurse and twelve years as a journalist-photographer for "Report of China" magazine.  In her spare time Jane enjoys photography, reading, travelling, swimming, dancing and spending time with family.

 


 

Stella Nelson, RMT- Registered Massage Therapist

Stella graduated from Everest College with a diploma in Massage Therapy.  Her interests are in myofascial release.  In her spare time Stella enjoys music which includes singing and songwriting and spending as much time with her son.

 

 


 

Andrew Roberts, RMT- Registered Massage Therapist

Andrew graduated from Sutherland-Chan Massage School with a diploma in Massage Therapy and from York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology.  He specializes in sports massage.  In his spare time Andrew enjoys snowboarding, tennis and cycling.

 


 

Momoko Sekiguchi, RMT- Registered Massage Therapist

Momoko graduated from Sutherland-Chan Massage School with a Diploma in Massage Therapy.  When Momoko is not working, she enjoys eating out, travelling and learning to rock climb.

 

 

 


 

Vivian Tayaban, RMT- Registered Massage Therapist

Vivian graduated with Honours from Everest College with a diploma in Massage Therapy and from Benguet State University (Philippines) with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education.  She specializes in Swedish and Advance Techniques (myofascial release, trigger point release, frictions and manual lymphatic drainage).  In her spare time Vivian likes to do arts and crafts, travel, go for walks/ runs and to go to the movies.

 

 


 

 Yirong  (Mary) Zhang, RMT- Registered Massage Therapist

Mary graduated from Sutherland-Chan School with a diploma in Massage Therapy.  She also has a Diploma of Registered Nurse from China and worked as a Registered Nurse for eight and half years in a hospital in China.  Mary specializes in sports and pregnancy massage.  In her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading and listening to music. 

 

 


 

 

 

 

OSTEOPATHIC DEPARTMENT

Don Williams, DOMP, B.A. (Hons), RMT- Osteopathic Manual Practitioner

Don graduated from Canadian College of Osteopathy with a Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice.  He also gradutated from University of  Waterloo with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours and from Sutherland-Chan Massage School with a diploma in Massage Therapy.  Don has taken over 60 postgraduate courses in many styles of manual therapy treatment and anatomy.  He sits on the Research Committee for the College of Osteopathy.  When Don is not working he enjoys travelling, rock-climbing, cycling and scuba diving.
